Apply to Executive Functioning Tutor – Vienna, VA

Novastar Prep is seeking an experienced Executive Functioning Tutor to provide one-on-one, in-home support to a high school student in Vienna, VA. This is a part-time opportunity for an educator who can help students build practical systems for organization, time management, planning, and independent learning.

The student is a rising sophomore and varsity basketball player balancing a rigorous academic schedule with significant athletic commitments. The tutor will help her develop effective strategies for managing competing responsibilities, staying organized, and approaching her academic workload with greater confidence and independence.

Responsibilities

Provide one-on-one executive functioning support in the student's home
Teach strategies for planning, organization, prioritization, time management, and studying
Help the student manage academic responsibilities alongside athletic commitments
Develop practical systems for assignments, deadlines, and workload management
Adapt instruction to the student's learning style and individual needs
Incorporate visual, written, and hands-on strategies when appropriate
Track progress and communicate relevant observations as needed

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required
Experience supporting students with executive functioning, study skills, organization, or academic coaching
Strong understanding of planning, organization, time management, and study strategies
Ability to build rapport while providing clear structure and accountability
Strong communication, organization, and professionalism
Reliable transportation and valid driver's license
Reliable and punctual
Ability to commit to ongoing weekly sessions
Ability to pass a background check

Schedule & Location

Start Date: August 29, 2026
Schedule: Saturdays, 12:00–4:00 PM ET
Frequency: Weekly, one-on-one
Location: In-home, Vienna, VA

Compensation

$35–$40/hour for in-home instruction, based on experience
Bi-weekly direct deposit
Flexible, part-time scheduling
