Novastar Prep is seeking an experienced Digital SAT Tutor to provide one-on-one, in-home SAT preparation sessions in Burke, VA and nearby Northern Virginia communities. This is a flexible, part-time opportunity for educators who want to make a meaningful impact while working with students one-on-one. Tutors will also have opportunities to work with remote students.

The tutor will teach Digital SAT Reading and Writing and/or Math, with a strong emphasis on test strategy, pacing, question analysis, and score improvement. This is a one-on-one tutoring role focused specifically on Digital SAT preparation.

Role Responsibilities

Deliver one-on-one Digital SAT instruction in students' homes or local libraries
Teach Reading and Writing and/or Math sections of the Digital SAT
Guide students through test strategies, pacing techniques, and question analysis
Adapt instruction to each student's skill level while maintaining structured sessions
Track student progress and communicate insights as needed

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required
Minimum of 1 year of SAT teaching or tutoring experience required
Strong knowledge of the Digital SAT format, adaptive structure, and question types
Ability to clearly explain strategies and concepts in a one-on-one setting
Strong communication, organization, and professionalism
Reliable and punctual
Ability to travel to student homes or libraries in Burke, VA and nearby Northern Virginia locations
Reliable transportation and valid driver's license
Ability to commit to at least one academic semester
Ability to pass a background check

Compensation

$40–$45/hour for in-home instruction, based on experience
$30/hour for online instruction
Bi-weekly direct deposit
Flexible, part-time scheduling
Administrative, advising, and scheduling support
